My Favorite Photographer, Russell James

My favorite photographer would have to be, hands down, Russell James. He is a fashion, beauty, and celebrity photographer who was born in 1962 in Perth, Australia and right now he is living in New York City. His work has been exhibtied in leading galleries around the world which has been a dream of mine for the past five years, maybe even longer. To name a few magazines he has been published in are Vogue, Marie Claire, GQ, W, American Photo, and French photo. Russell’s first solo photography book ‘Russell James’ (2009), features some of his most iconic photos with over thirty of the most beautifuI women and interesting people and it has been released in more than seventy countires. Lately, other than just taking photo's Russell has also been directing, a couple of commercials he has done were for Victoria Secret and national spots for Gillette. I love the work he does and the type of photos he takes. When I get older I hope to become the type of Photographer Russell James is. He is my favorite photographer because of how the people he photographs talks about him and the way he captures the people he is photographying, it is beautiful. You only ever hear good things abut Russell James too and he always seems so happy and positive and that is the type of person I want to be. He is most famous for the work he does for Victoria Secret but he also takes pictures for popular magazines and he is very big with taking pictures of celebrities and that is what I would love to do for my career. When I grow up I want to be a fashion, beauty, and celebrity photgrapher too. All of these reasons are why Russell James is my favorite photographer and role model and I hope I can become as good as he is one day.
